Hi everyone,

As the title states, I just composed a new song. This is pretty much my crowning achievement so far. It's a cover of a song from the Anime Garo, and I composed it for a friend who really wanted to sing the lyrics to it. They're not in place yet, but the instrumentals are all done. It's a lot different than the originals. I'd love to know what you all think. Praise, constructive suggestions and out and out criticism are all welcome. I'll put the soundcloud link below, as well as a youtube link to the original song from the anime.

It needs more instermentation.

i'll probably be singing this one all night.

i've never heard of it before, but oh, I love it!. the ending especially sounds so haunting.

the only thing I can't get used to is the first bit when the strings come in

their's a part that sounds really out of tune. it's horrible. it litirally sounds like someone else just took over and just pressed keys.

but the rest of it.... oh my!. go you!

Thank you both. For Real, what exactly do you mean by more instrumentation? The song originally was pretty repetitive, so what I wanted to do is add layers with each repetition. So any elaboration you can give would be helpful. I should point out that I have very little musical skill, so some of this is very new to me, especially when dealing with harmonies and layering of strings.

Which leads me to you, Oracle. Thank you as well. Discord is not something I was going for, so I'll have to review what you're talking about. I've heard this so many times I must have lost some objectivity. Are you talking about right as the string section begins?

Not sure what I might add, but it seems lean.
But, if that was desired, then it is how it should be.

at post 4, yeah.

it just sounds..

rushed and unplanned?

sorry... it is a good peace over all, I promise. I love the majority of it. even after the part i'm talking about, it goes back to normal

No offense taken. I asked after all. I'll have to listen more closely and see what I can do. Easy enough to fix.
